Kim Delaney was an American actor from the United States. The actress is best known for her role as detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded an Emmy Award. Her credits comprise All My Children Philly CSI: Miami & Army Wives. Delaney was born the sole child of her mother who was a homemaker and an executive in the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood in the company of four brothers. As a child, Delaney fantasized of being a reporter for the court. The first time she began modeling was at the age of 14 and later landed commercial roles when she moved to New York. Her first job as an actor came as a young girl in the soap opera All My Children. Since then Delaney has appeared in numerous films television movies and dramas. While she has a career success, her personal life is not happy and prosperous. The talented actress has struggled with addiction issues in the past as well as two failed marriages. In 2005, she was denied the custody of her son.
