Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The label debuted her first EP, Pho, in October 2016 where she started getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music online in the year 2012 after she dropped her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound and her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The 21st day of July, 2015. Omen included her in Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to collaborate together with Rihanna. On the 8th of December that she was signed to Dreamville Records. On the record Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the song Backseat along with Cozz. She released Pho, her debut album on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. Also, she was featured on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. On the 9th November, she released another two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November, 13, she released two additional singles titled The No One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby is a song that she performed alongside Cole on the soundtrack to Creed II on 16 November. The track was released as a single on its own in February 2019 to coincide with the release of her debut album. It was released with the music video which debuted on February 20 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views on YouTube within one week. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
